WHY INSTALL A BLANKET ON YOUR TANK-STYLE WATER HEATER?

Poorly insulated water heaters work overtime because they can lose 25 - 45% of their heat while not in use.  You can save nearly 10% of the kWh usage on your monthly bill by improving this insulation (R value) on your water heater.  Water heater blankets are an inexpensive and simple way to accomplish this.

Which heaters need the most help? Those that are:

  • In an unheated space
  • Placed on bare ground
  • Warm to the touch
  • Built before 1998

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REBATE PROGRAM:

  • Measure your water heater – top to bottom and around.
  • Bring these measurements and your OCEC bill with you to North Valley Lumber. 
  • Present your bill at the time of purchase, and save your receipt (average cost $12.00).
  • Install the blanket per the instructions included.
  • Take a picture of the installed blanket.  If you do not have a camera, we can loan you one.
  • Bring or mail your receipt and photo to OCEC office.
  • The first 100 members will receive a rebate check by mail for the full purchase amount of the blanket.
